OBARSIX is a loop diuretic, it inhibits the active reabsorption of sodium and chloride in the proximal and distal tubules and the loop of Hanley.
A consequence of the elevated sodium level in the distal region of the tubule is the increased excretion of potassium.
OBARSIX has very pronounced diuretic of action.
Each ampoule of OBARSIX contains: Furosemide 20 mg / 2 ml.
OBARSIX is suitable for the short and long-term treatment of disorders in which there is an interstitial accumulation of liquid (Oedema):
In cardiac oedema due to decompensated cardiac insufficiency, congestion of the lungs or liver and oedema of the lower extremities.
In renal edema, hepatogenic oedema and complications of pregnancy, etc.
Intravenous administration is confined to emergency situations, e.g. lung oedema, brain oedema, burns with associated oedema and poisoning.
Pregnancy& breast-feeding
Pregnancy: there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Furosemide should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus (Pregnancy category: C).
Breast-feeding: because it appears in breast milk, caution should be exercised.
Adults: 20 – 40 mg as a maximum dose 2 to 4 times daily.
Children: 1 mg / kg up to 20 mg daily as a maximum dose.
Lung oedema: 1 mg / kg body weight.
Brain oedema: 1 – 2 ampoules may be infused for initial therapy.
