Rolac 30 mg, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is commonly used in hospitals, for the short-term management of moderate to severe pain that requires analgesia at the opioid level.

Rolac 30 mg can be used in patients who find it difficult to take Rolac 10 mg as tablets.

Rolac 30 mg can be used in patients for quick pain relief.

Rolac is available in ampoules for I.M or I.V administration (Rolac 30 mg), and also in tablets for oral administration (Rolac 10 mg).

Each ampoule of Rolac 30 mg contains: Ketorolac tromethamine 30 mg / 1 mL.

Adults:

Rolac 30 mg is indicated for the short-term (≤5 days) management of moderately severe acute pain that requires analgesia at the opioid level, usually in a postoperative setting.

The total combined duration of use of Rolac 30 mg must not to exceed 5 days of use because of the potential of increasing the frequency and severity of adverse reactions associated with the recommended doses.

Rolac 30 mg is not recommended for use in children under 16 years of age unless the expected benefit justifies the potential risk.

Pregnancy& breast-feeding:

Rolac 30 mg should not be used during pregnancy unless the expected benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. The lowest effective dose and shortest duration of treatment should be considered.

Pregnancy Category: C

Rolac 30 mg should not be used whilst breastfeeding because of potential adverse effects of prostaglandin-inhibiting drugs on neonates.

Adults (Under 65 years of age):

The maximum daily dose of Rolac 30 mg must not be more than 4 ampules in 24 hours.

The recommended dose of Rolac 30 mg in case of severe acute pain:

I.M: 60 mg as single dose or 30 mg every 6 hours, not to exceed 120 mg in 24 hours.

I.V: 30 mg as single dose or 30 mg every 6 hours, not to exceed 120 mg in 24 hours.

Adults (65 years of age or older):

The maximum daily dose of Rolac 30 mg must not be more than 2 ampules in 24 hours.

The recommended dose of Rolac 30 mg in case of severe acute pain:

I.M: 30 mg as single dose or 15 mg every 6 hours, not to exceed 60 mg in 24 hours.

I.V: 15 mg as single dose or 15 mg every 6 hours, not to exceed 60 mg in 24 hours.

Children under 2 years of age:

Safety and efficacy not established.

Children between 2 to 16 years of age:

Single dose: 0.5 mg/kg I.M/I.V once, not to exceed 15 mg.

Multiple dose: 0.5 mg/kg I.M/I.V every 6 hours, not to exceed 5 days.

Children over 16 years of age and under 50 kg of weight:

The maximum daily dose of Rolac 30 mg must not be more than 2 ampules in 24 hours.

I.M: 30 mg as single dose or 15 mg every 6 hours, not to exceed 60 mg in 24 hours.

I.V: 15 mg as single dose or 15 mg every 6 hours, not to exceed 60 mg in 24 hours.

Duration of therapy should not exceed 5 days.
