ZOLPIM 10 mg, a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA-A) receptor positive modulator, is indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia characterized by difficulties with sleep initiation, it helps improve sleep quality and reduce the time taken to fall asleep.
ZOLPIM 10 mg is recommended for short-term use to avoid dependence.
Each F.C tablet of ZOLPIM 10 mg contains 10 mg Zolpidem Tartrate.
ZOLPIM 10 mg is indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia in adults in situations where the insomnia is debilitating or is causing severe distress for the patient.
Children and adolescents:
ZOLPIM 10 mg is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age, due to a lack of data to support use in this age group.
Pregnancy& breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking ZOLPIM 10 mg.
ZOLPIM 10 mg should be stopped in pregnant women at least 15 days prior to delivery to prevent withdrawal symptoms in newborns, as zolpidem 10 mg can cause drowsiness or agitation in newborns.
Pregnancy Category: C
ZOLPIM 10 mg should not be used whilst breastfeeding because of small quantities of zolpidem appear in breast milk.
The use of ZOLPIM 10 mg in nursing mothers is therefore not recommended.
Adults:
The recommended dose of ZOLPIM 10 mg: 1 tablet immediately before bedtime with at least 7-8 hours remaining before the planned time of awakening.
The lowest effective daily dose of ZOLPIM 10 mg should be used and must not exceed 10 mg in 24 hours.
The effect of ZOLPIM 10 mg may be slowed if taken with or immediately after a meal.
As with all hypnotics, long-term use is not recommended. Treatment should be as short as possible and should not exceed four weeks including the period of tapering off.
