Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg contains Cefadroxil which is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. This medication belongs to a class of drugs called First generation of Cephalosporines. It works by stopping the making of bacterial wall. This antibiotic treat only bacterial infections. It will not work for virus infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.
Each Capsule of Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg contains 500 mg cefadroxil as monohydrate.
Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg is used to treat patients with infections caused by susceptible strains of microorganisms in the following cases:
Urinary tract infections caused by Escherichia coli, Proteus, and various Klebsiella species.
Skin and skin structure infections in addition to Impetigo caused by strains of Staphylococcus or Streptococcus bacteria.
Pharyngitis or tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes (group A beta-hemolytic streptococci).
The efficacy of Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg in preventing rheumatic fever has not been established.
Pregnancy& breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg.

Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg should not be used whilst breastfeeding because of certain amounts Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg appear in breast milk.
Adults:
Urinary Tract Infections:
The recommended dose of Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg to treat uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections (i.e., cystitis) is 1000 or 2000 mg daily in a single (q.d.) or divided doses (b.i.d.).
The recommended dose of Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg to treat all other urinary tract infections is 2000 mg daily in divided doses (b.i.d.).
Skin and Skin Structure Infections:
The recommended dose of Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg to treat skin and skin structure infections is 1000 mg daily in single (q.d.) or divided doses (b.i.d.).
Pharyngitis and Tonsillitis:
The recommended dose of Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg to treat group A beta-hemolytic streptococcal pharyngitis and tonsillitis is 1000 mg daily in single (q.d.) or divided doses (b.i.d.) for 10 days.
Children:
Urinary Tract Infections:
the recommended daily dosage of Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg is 30 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 12 hours.
Skin and Skin Structure Infections:
the recommended daily dosage is 30 mg/kg/day in equally divided doses every 12 hours.
Pharyngitis, Tonsillitis and impetigo:
the recommended daily dosage of Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg is 30 mg/kg/day in a single dose or in equally divided doses every 12 hours.
In the treatment of beta-hemolytic streptococcal infections, a therapeutic dosage of Cefadroxil Oubari 500 mg should be administered for at least 10 days.
