MOTIN 10 mg, a medication belonging to the gastrointestinal drug class. It primarily acts on peripheral dopamine receptors, inhibiting them, and enhances esophageal peristalsis, which helps push food toward the stomach. In addition, it increases gastric motility, facilitating gastric-emptying and intestinal transit.

MOTIN 10 mg is considered a suitable option for treating a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age and weighing more than 35 kg.

MOTIN is available in several pharmaceutical forms, including suppositories, F.C tablets, and oral suspension.

Each F.C tablet of MOTIN 10 mg contains 10 mg Domperidone maleate.

MOTIN 10 mg is primarily indicated for the treatment of a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders, including:

A burning sensation in the stomach, pain in the upper abdomen, and delayed gastric emptying

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and esophagitis

A sensation of fullness and bloating in areas such as the abdomen and epigastrium

Belching and flatulence

Nausea and vomiting caused by infections, organic or functional disorders, or dietary factors, and also some people may experience nausea and vomiting as a result of radiotherapy or drug therapy

The use of Motin 10 mg is considered beneficial for the treatment of nausea and vomiting caused by dopamine receptor agonists, particularly in the management of Parkinson’s disease (such as Levodopa and Bromocriptine).

Children:

The efficacy of MOTIN 10 mg F.C tablets has not been established in children under 12 years of age.

Pregnancy& breast-feeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking MOTIN 10 mg.

Pregnancy Category: N (Not Classified).

MOTIN 10 mg should not be used whilst breastfeeding because of small amounts MOTIN 10 mg appear in breast milk.

Adults and adolescents (12 years of age and older with a body weight of 35kg or more):

The recommended dose of MOTIN 10 mg is one F.C tablet taken up to three times before meals daily.

The maximum daily dose of MOTIN 10 mg is 3 F.C tablets (30 mg).

MOTIN 10 mg is not suitable for children under 12 years of age and older with a body weight of less than 35 kg.
