Valsartan Amlodipine Oubari 160 mg/5 mg is a cardiovascular drug that contains a combination of the following active ingredients:

Valsartan 160 mg: Belongs to the class of Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers (ARBs). It works by preventing blood vessel constriction and raising blood pressure.

Amlodipine 5 mg: Belongs to the class of voltage-gated calcium channel blockers. It works by reducing the pressure exerted on the heart muscle and blood vessels.

Valsartan Amlodipine Oubari 160 mg/5 mg is a suitable therapeutic option for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy.

Each F.C tablets of Valsartan Amlodipine Oubari 160 mg/5 mg contains 160 mg Valsartan + 5 mg Amlodipine besilate.

Valsartan Amlodipine Oubari 160 mg/5 mg F.C tablets are indicated for the treatment of systolic and diastolic hypertension specially in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on amlodipine or valsartan monotherapy. Lowering blood pressure helps reduce the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular disorders, primarily myocardial infarction and stroke.

Valsartan Amlodipine Oubari 160 mg/5 mg F.C tablets may be used as initial therapy in patients who are likely to need multiple drugs to achieve blood pressure goals.

Children:

Valsartan Amlodipine Oubari 160 mg/5 mg F.C tablets are not recommended for use in patients aged below 18 years due to a lack of data on safety and efficacy.

Pregnancy& breast-feeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking Valsartan Amlodipine Oubari 160 mg/5 mg.

Pregnancy Category: D.

Valsartan Amlodipine Oubari 160 mg/5 mg should not be used whilst breastfeeding because of small amount of the contents of Valsartan Amlodipine Oubari 160 mg/5 mg appear in breast milk.

Adults:

Treatment of systolic or diastolic hypertension:

The recommended initial dose of Valsartan Amlodipine Oubari 160 mg/5 mg F.C tablets is on F.C tablet daily (160 mg/5 mg).

The maximum recommended dose of Valsartan Amlodipine Oubari 160 mg/5 mg F.C tablets should not exceed 2 F.C tablets daily (320 mg/10 mg).
