Bisolol 5 mg contains Bisoprolol (as fumarate) 5 mg a is a cardio-selective beta-blocker drug used to lower blood pressure in people with hypertension and treat chronic angina (chest pain).
 It works by slowing heart rate to reduce workload and decrease blood pressure. 

 

Each tablet Bisolol 10 mg bisoprolol (as fumarate) 10 mg.
 

Adults:
Bisolol 5 mg may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive and antianginal agents for the treatment of:
•    Hypertension & Chest pain
•    Heart Failure.

Children and adolescents
Safety & efficacy not established

Pregnancy& breast-feeding 
Bisolol 10 mg is not recommended during pregnancy unless clearly necessary. If treatment with Bisolol 10 mg is considered necessary, monitoring of the uteroplacental blood flow and the foetal growth is recommended. In case of harmful effects on pregnancy or the foetus consideration of alternative treatment is recommended.
The newborn infant must be closely monitored. Symptoms of hypoglycaemia and bradycardia are generally to be expected within the first 3 days.
It is not known whether this medicinal product is excreted in human milk. Therefore, breastfeeding is not recommended during administration of Bisolol 10 mg.

 

 Hypertension & Chest pain:
2.5-5 mg once daily; the dose may be increased to obtain the best possible dosage for every patient.
The maximum recommended dose is 20 mg once per day

Heart Failure:
Bisolol 10 mg may be used as an added option for heart failure you should in combination with other medicines for heart failure including an ACE-inhibitor, a diuretic.
The dose of Bisolol will be increased gradually until the dose that is suitable for you has been found:
1.25 mg once daily; increase gradually if necessary not to exceed 10 mg/day
