Spasmaver is a smooth muscle relaxant, it is an antispasmodic agent.

Spasmaver has no atropinic antispasmodic effects, so it can be used in the case of glaucoma or prostatic hypertrophy.

Spasmaver ampoules are prepared for intramuscular injection and intravenous infusion.

Each ampoule of Spasmaver contains: Alverine base 40 mg / 2 ml.

  1. Symptomatic treatment of pain associated with functional disorders of the digestive and biliary tract.
  2. The treatment of painful and spasmodic manifestation of the urinary bladder and genitourinary tract as in:
  • Dysmenorrhea
  • Labor pain
  • Renal colic
  • Urinary tract’s pains
  • Abortion menace
  • Dynamic dystocia

Pregnancy& breast-feeding

Pregnancy: the results of studies on animals did not show any evidence for teratogenic or embryotoxic effects. In human, there are no reports about any negative effects up till now. (Pregnancy category: C).

Breast-feeding: there are no adequate studies about the safety of using Alverine in nursing women.

Adults and children older than 12 years old:

1 or 2 ampoules I.M. or I.V. could be used, the dose may be repeated from 2 to 3 times in the subsequent hours if necessary.
